The Football Club were disappointed and saddened to hear reports of sexist remarks towards the female Assistant Referee from a section of the home supporters at Saturday’s fixture against Coventry United FC.

While the club remains proud of the passion that is brought to every game by our fans, there is a distinct line between supporting the team and what amounts to unacceptable abuse, whether that be towards players, officials, staff or other fans. We are an inclusive, family-orientated, community football club, one where all our supporters and staff feel safe, valued and respected. As such, any form of abusive and derogatory remarks will not be tolerated within the ground or online.

We will be taking a proactive approach at upcoming home games to ensure that should intolerant or discriminatory behaviour become apparent, that those found guilty will be sanctioned appropriately with zero tolerance.

Thank you for your support with this and of course, your valued and continued support of the Team.
