St Neots Town Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce this morning that Cameron Mawer has bolstered his management team by appointing Saints Legend Steve Kuhne as Assistant Manager. Ever since the departure of George Thorne, Cam has been seeking the right appointment to join him in the dugout and finally he has got his man. Steve, who will be no stranger to many of our supporters who frequented the old Rowley Park Stadium, will know he was the Scourge of all United Counties League defences with his no nonsense Number Nine performances and a prolific goalscorer in his time with us as a player. More recently, Steve has been assistant to Iain Parr and also manager of our Youth and Saints Under 21’s team.
Steve had this to say about his return to the club he loves:
“I am really excited about returning to St Neots Town F.C as assistant manager to Cam Mawer. The club has obviously been a massive part of my football life and there seems to be a fantastic vibe about the place again. Cam has struck me as being somebody with great professionalism and dedication. I hope to be able to help a young manager learning his trade in any way that I can. I now look forward to meeting up with the players, supporters and old friends to try and help get this club back to where it wants to be”.
Manager Cameron Mawer added:
“Im really looking forward to having Steve on board, he ticks all the boxes I been looking for since George departed, He’s a man of immense knowledge, hugely respected within the game and the whole football club will benefit from his experience. When first talking to him, he talked about the Club being his club and I want people that have that love for the St Neots Town FC around me and there is no one better than Steve”
Please join us in welcoming a true Club legend back into the fold and we hope your time with us is both enjoyable and successful. Steve will be meeting up with the rest of the management team and playing squad this evening at training and we look forward to seeing him on Saturday as we entertain March Town United at the Premier Plus Stadium.
