St Neots Town Football Club are delighted to announce that goalkeeper JAMES GOFF has today agreed terms with the club for the 2023/24 season.

Huntingdon born, James, (24), joins us from Step 3 side St Ives Town. After playing two games for us last season on a dual registration basis, the 1-1 draw at Daventry Town and the 1-0 loss away to Spalding United, shining in both matches with displays of agility and good shot stopping, James has opted to drop down two levels after liking what he saw in the Club during his brief stay with us. Beginning his career at Northampton Town as a thirteen year old, he progressed through the youth ranks and signed his first professional contract in 2017. He then went out on loan to our near neighbours, St Ives Town for the 2017/18 season and then Banbury United in 2018/19. Upon his release by the Cobblers, James has enjoyed time at Wisbech Town, Spalding United, Lincoln United and of course, most recently, St Ives Town.

Manager Cameron Mawer added “Im delighted to get this one over the line as attracting a Step 3 keeper to a Club beginning life in Step 5 is a bit of a coup for us. I’m aware he was very popular among the supporters during his short spell with the Club last season and really happy to get him back on board. I hope this is a statement of our intent to push on this season and return the Club to Step Four football as soon as possible”

Please join us in welcoming James back to the Club and we hope your time with us will be both enjoyable and successful.
