ST NEOTS TOWN U18      8          SOHAM TOWN U18        0

St Neots Town U18 side scored four goals in each half to sum up their superiority in this contest against a Soham side still to record their first points this season. The visitors never gave up and produced their best attacking moves late in the game but the home side look to have rediscovered the rhythm they have been lacking this season.

Within three minutes the home side had stamped their intentions on the game as Joe Jackson brought a save from the visiting keeper and then beat him a minute later with a crisp finish. The same player had the ball in the net again but saw his effort chalked off by an offside flag. After 15 minutes St Neots doubled their lead when a curling free kick by Max Kimpton went in at the far post past the unsighted visiting keeper. Soham briefly rallied and Lewis Murphy fired over the bar and Ryan Horne brought a good save from the home keeper. However, two further goals in three minutes restored their control as a long ball found Ryan Samupita clear and his cross was converted by Finley Morris and in their next attack St Neots made it 4-0 as Joe Jackson produced a delightful chip for his second goal.

He then completed his hat trick eight minutes into the second half after goalkeeper Jacob Wiseman had parried his first attempt and a superb 30 yards effort by Max Kimpton four minutes later confirmed St Neots superiority. The introduction of St Neots substitutes saw two of them add their names to the scoresheet as Chris Khoo made it 7-0 from a Charlie Clark corner on the hour and then a Jaiden Bell shot went in off a goalpost with 15 minutes remaining. The late Soham defiance saw Levi Fletcher denied by the crossbar and Charlie Sutcliffe and substitute Nathan Harvey both go close to notching a consolation goal.
