THURLOW NUNN YOUTH LEAGUE – WEST DIVISION

DEEPING RANGERS U18        1          ST NEOTS TOWN U18      4

St Neots U18 side suffered just one away league defeat last season – at Deeping Rangers! This confident performance and result atoned for that defeat and maintained the youngsters unbeaten record this season.

It was an even contest in the first half with both teams trying to play football. Deeping edged possession for the first half hour and then St Neots settled and took control.   Before half time both teams had missed chances to go ahead, and half time arrived goalless with all still to play for   At half time after a tactical reshuffle the visitors began to utilise the full width of the pitch with Ryan Samupita and Finley Morris improving St Neots attacking fortunes. However, after 55 minutes the home side took the lead with an unstoppable long-range effort. St. Neots responded by introducing substitute Jaiden Bell and in a significant 10 minutes spell they scored 3 goals to take control. Joe Jackson scored the first and then assisted substitute Jaiden Bell to add a second goal. A three man move saw Frankie Webster add the third goal and the fourth and clinching goal came 15 minutes from time from Luke Smith leaving St. Neots second in the table.
